What is the Text Cleaner?
A text cleaner removes the invisible formatting junk that piles up when you copy text from PDFs, Word docs, web pages, or emails. Multiple spaces collapse to one, tabs go away, blank lines disappear, and any other formatter you toggle on does its job. The result is plain, predictable text ready to use anywhere.
How to use the Text Cleaner
- 1
Paste your messy text
Drop the source text into the input pane. PDF copy-paste, Word formatting, scraped HTML, anything works.
- 2
Toggle the cleaners you want
Each option in the sidebar handles one specific problem: extra spaces, tabs, leading or trailing whitespace, blank lines, special characters.
- 3
Read the cleaned output
The right pane updates as you toggle. The header shows how many characters were removed.
- 4
Copy and use it
Hit Copy to grab the cleaned text. Paste anywhere a clean string is needed: a CSV cell, a code snippet, an SEO tool.
Frequently Asked Questions
What can I clean?
Six independent options: collapse multiple spaces to one, remove tabs, trim whitespace from line ends, drop empty lines, normalize whole-text whitespace, strip non-standard special characters. Toggle each one based on what you actually need.
Can I choose which cleaning options to apply?
Each toggle is independent. You can run just one (e.g. trim trailing whitespace) or all six together. The output recalculates the moment you flip a switch, so you can preview each rule's effect.
Does it show what changed?
The header above the output shows the character count difference. So if cleaning stripped 247 characters of whitespace and special chars, you'll see "(247 characters removed)" right next to the label.
