What is the Unit Converter?
A unit converter translates a measurement from one system to another: kilograms to pounds, kilometers to miles, Celsius to Fahrenheit. Recipes, engineering specs, fitness logs, and travel plans all run into mixed units, and converting in your head invites mistakes that a tool can avoid.

Frequently Asked Questions
How accurate are the conversions?
Every conversion goes through SI base units using exact factors from the International System of Units. Temperature uses the explicit formulas (°F = °C × 9/5 + 32, K = °C + 273.15) rather than lookup tables, so results stay accurate to JavaScript's floating-point precision (about 15 significant digits).
What unit categories are supported?
Six categories with 30+ units total. Length: mm, cm, m, km, in, ft, yd, mi. Weight: mg, g, kg, oz, lb, ton. Temperature: °C, °F, K. Area: m², km², ft², mi², acre, hectare. Volume: ml, L, gal, qt, pt, cup, fl oz. Speed: m/s, km/h, mph, knots.
How do I convert Celsius to Fahrenheit?
Pick the Temperature tab, type your Celsius value into the From field, then set the From dropdown to °C and the To dropdown to °F. The result calculates instantly using °F = °C × 9/5 + 32. For example, 20 °C reads as 68 °F.
